WoW guild gets “screensaved” by Leo Laporte

Photo brought to you by the geeks at Destructoid, this news just taps different types of emotional reservoirs. Laugh, cry, overflow with excitement…you name it. Leo Laporte, known for his witty, geekish antics at “The ScreenSavers“, Tech TV and TWiT Netcast, has joined up Scott Johnson’s guild, alea iacta est. Way to add a notch to World of Warcraft‘s popularity list.

Alea iacta est, Latin for “it is right, it is fitting, it is lawful,” is a 646-member Horde guild on the Earthen Ring realm. Even if they can’t see past the 500 member limit, guild officers still keep adding new folk. They snagged a big one when they found out that Leo Laporte joined their bandwagon.

Fitting as it is that the old geeky comic could find time to devote some grind time and host a netcast show, he still proves that he’s a gamer, through and through. Even if he remains unnamed, alea iacta est’s reputation just bumped several notches higher. As a form of kudos to Laporte for his days at “The ScreenSavers” and to Johnson, we’re putting the word out there.

You can check out Dreadspine and his awesome guild via World of Warcraft‘s new Armory section.  And don’t bother trying to look for sneaky Leo, the Armory won’t reveal his identity.
