WoW: Mace stun proc to be nerfed

An example of a mace - Image 1Finding World of Warcraft‘s maces stunningly overpowered? Blizzard just dropped the line earlier via their spokesman Kalgan that they plan to make revisions to the game’s mace class of weapons. As the blue poster indicated, one change they’re working on is a reduction of the weapon’s stun proc rate.

This appears to have become an issue in the past, given that while maces aren’t as keen on Damage Per Second (DPS) as some other weapon classes like swords and daggers, their  increased stun chance made them a favorite to specialize in.

This is especially true among warriors, rogues, and Shamans. The stun chance opened up their target to a world of hurt from the rest of their other attack skills.

As to the extent of the changes, Kalgan later indicated that the tweaks Blizzard will be implementing should just keep the game balanced. Translation: low enough for it not to be an unfair advantage, but high enough so that it’ll still be handy. Keep a lookout in case this matter gets more revisions – the changes should be appearing by patch 2.3.
