Blizzard spokesman Hortus has dropped by the World of Warcraft forums with an important announcement regarding the Public Test Realms (PTRs). According to the blue-texter, WoW‘s PTRs will be taken down for the day. Hortus further explained that this is due to a new build that’s being implemented for the realms.

Unfortunately, nothing has been said on what this new build will do for the PTRs. Players in the thread did reply that they hope the build will decrease the number of crashes their realms experienced. The downtime is expected to last between 4 to 6 hours, and was announced earlier at 05:08:33 p.m. UTC. It’s currently just past 8 p.m. UTC on our watch here – check out the corresponding thread via the source link in case Hortus gives the green light on the PTRs.
