WoW tips: on turning down texture detail to low settings
Still having problems with graphics while playing? Well, Silme from Maelstrom posted a bug report on the World of Warcraft Test Realm Forums about problems with texture detail. Apparently, she couldn’t change her the level of detail to low.
Blizzard employee Cprompt (an apt name don’t you think?) dropped by the thread and informed Silme that it wasn’t a bug:
I am told that the texture detail slider requires a restart of the graphics device. The easiest way to do this is to restart WoW. If you’re more technically savy then you can do a /console gxrestart. This will restart the graphics device without restarting WoW. Try that and see if the changes take place then.
Anyway, if you were having the same problem, you should try out Cprompt’s handy advice. Stay tuned for more World of Warcraft news.
