WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 cancelled for PS3

It looks like yet another PS3 game is going down the drain – it was recently announced on the German THQ website that the PS3 version of WWE Smackdown! vs RAW 2007 has been cancelled. The publisher wants to concentrate resources on the versions for the other platforms, as the PS3 version would have taken several months longer to develop.

While this hasn’t been officially confirmed in a press release yet, numerous sites have picked up this news which was originally posted by a site administrator on THQ’s German forums, so it will most probably be true. Certainly unfortunate news for wrestling fans hoping to play this title on Sony‘s next-gen hardware. But seeing as THQ regularly releases new titles in the series, PS3 gamers will get their WWE action sooner or later.

Now without the Playstation 3, WWE: Smackdown! vs RAW remains due for a release in November for PS2, PSP and Xbox 360.
