XBL: Guitar Hero III demo tomorrow, weekend contests to follow

Activision is sending out word that they will be releasing a demo of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock into Xbox Live Marketplace tomorrow, October 23 (Tuesday). In line with this, fans aged 13 years and above are being invited to the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Weekend taking place this November 2 to 4.

The activities planned for this event include the 72-hour Play and Win Sweepstakes. There’s also the multiplayer showdown matches, which will have players battling it out with GH3‘s dev team; and an Xbox LIVE leaderboard tournament. Gamers who register and play stand to win several special prize packages, including a custom Xbox 360 faceplate signed by Velvet Revolver lead guitarist Slash (also formerly of Guns ‘N Roses).

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock from RedOctane, Activision for the Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, Mac, and Windows PC will be available for North America this October 28. The game’s Europe launch will follow this November 23.
