Xbox 360 DVD Adapter Diagram and Parts List

Earlier we reported on the Xbox 360 DVD Adapter Prototype that JonnyTk26 and WunSick hope will further the homebrew scene on the Xbox 360. Their prototype design will let users connect their drive to a PC, allowing them to dump, edit, and write to the firmware. Since they really do care about progress being made with their design, they were nice enough to go ahead and release the included diagram and part list so even the most novice users can construct it themselves.

Adapter Pinout
[X] [8] [6] [4] [2] [0]
[X] [9] [7] [5] [3] [1]

X = Dead Pins

Full Parts List:
– Capacitors – .o1 micro Farads (symbol looks like .01 uF) [any small value should work, it is just used to filter AC out of the line so a “true earth” ground is achived]

– Voltage regualtor- 1086V33

– Small wire andything around the 20-22 gauge should work

– A small PC board

– Some small heatshrink might come in handy.

– You will need a power connector from a original xbox, or you can make your own. The connector pin spacing on the power connector is 2mm.

The creators did say that they have other ways to build it, but they found this method to be the most feasible way for beginners to professionals. Although there’s a good possibility that a newbie could end up ruining his firmware, it’s still nice to know that WunSick and JonnhyTk26 are giving him the opportunity to do so.
