Xbox 360 hailed as best console of 2006
The Xbox 360 has apparently won the first round of the console war by being proclaimed the “Best Gaming Console” of 2006, according to gaming site ReviewCentre.
They based the award on reviews, comments and online polls where the 360 bested all of its competitors, winning 67 percent of the total votes casted in the survey. Said Gaynor Holt, Chief Operations Officer of the website:
This award is richly deserved because it is based on the overwhelming positive response of the Xbox 360’s users. Gamers are bowled over by the gaming experience and value for money that the Xbox 360 offers in today’s highly competitive gaming market.
Gamers commented that the high quality of graphics and sound that the console brings to the field is yet to be matched by any other game machine. When all was said and done, the 360’s graphics received an average rating of 8.3 from those who reviewed it.
“Nothing, but nothing currently comes close to the 360 in terms of graphics or sound,” said one Microsoft game fan who was delighted and proud to have the console. The Xbox has had remarkable hit franchises such as Gears of War, Halo and Ninety-nine Nights along with a host of other games that made it very marketable during the past year.
