Xbox 360 headset charger: a misfit

As the old  Forrest Gump quote goes,”Sh–t happens.” Web surfer David reports that he had just picked a brand new Xbox 360 headset, and as he was getting ready to plug the set’s charger into his outlet, he noticed something didn’t quite fit… The plug that is.

Microsoft – or the UK distributor – had apparently packaged a European bundle for Britain, which isn’t exactly part of Europe‘s geopolitical sphere; Layman’s terms: they don’t use the same plugs as the rest of their neighbors.

Shortly after this incident was reported, the dudes over at Kotaku were abuzz with suggestions on how to alleviate this home-improvement problem, ranging from jamming an insulated screwdriver into the earth/ground, opening up the charger and soldering a fitting pair on, to just buying a set of European adaptor plugs. We’d go with choice number 1, minus the insulation….wiiiii…
