Xbox 360 Lounge Opens in Mumbai

xbox360Indian gamers will get to experience the thrills of playing Xbox 360 ahead of its formal launch as Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division opened the first Xbox 360 Lounge in the city of Mumbai. Located at the Adlabs Theatre at Wadala, the high-tech facility is spread over an area of 800 square feet, big enough to house loads of Xbox 360s and high-definition Samsung LCD television sets.

The Xbox 360 won’t hit Indian stores until the pre-Diwali season (Indian Lights Festival), but gamers can test-drive the next-gen console in the comfort of a ultra chic lounge setting.

Mitch Koch, Corporate VP-Global Retail Sales and Marketing Group, Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division elaborates on the inauguration:

The Xbox 360 has met with tremendous response from various genres of gamers across the world and is fast emerging to be the hub of digital entertainment. In India, judging by the huge customer demand and anticipation around the launch, we are confident that the product will be a definite sell-out. In this context, by setting up the Xbox 360 Lounges we seek to provide gamers an opportunity to test-drive the exhilarating games on Xbox 360 before they finally get their own Xbox 360 console which will be available later this year.

At launch time, gamers will have the option to buy the Xbox 360 Core System including 1 leading game title for Rs 19,990 ($437), or the Xbox 360 System fully loaded with 20GB detachable hard drive, a wireless controller, a Media remote control and a component HD-AV cable, an Ethernet and batteries for Rs 23,990 ($524). India Xbox will start taking pre-orders on June 9.
