Xbox 360 Weekend Warrior: Microsoft the Incredulous, patent infringement cases, and games updates
I’ve been taking care of the Xbox 360 Weekend Warrior the past month, and really, it amazes me how Microsoft keeps on making head-turning, jaw-dropping, headlining statements. Oh but to be rich and famous; controversy sure is second nature, no? In this week’s Warrior, sure to get the medal for Biggest News is Microsoft’s daring (yet-again) statement on their incredulity at Sony hitting the 20 million mark for PSN users. In second place would be the big MS sued to pony up lotsa cash for patent infringement. Uh-oh.

Gaming News:
- Resident Evil 5
- has finally hit store shelves! Time to kill off those zombies! Oh, and don’t worry yourself too much over the DLC price. Capcom‘s got just the right defense for that. Link
- As for Chris in a rather compromising position with Sheva (and her unlockable costume), we’re not really sure what kind of defense he’ll give. Link

- It’s far from being over. Lionhead Studios confirmed this week that there will be more DLC coming your way to continue the adventure. Link

- Microsoft the non-believer: MS head of gaming and entertainment in UK, Stephen McGill, dons his Doubting Thomas hat as he questions Sony’s “real numbers” on the PSN. Do they, or do they not, have 20 million active PSN users? Link
- US$ 90 million due from MS for patent infringement: MS is faced with yet another lawsuit, this time from PalTalk Holdings. Allegedly, MS used patented technology in the Halo games, and both Xbox consoles as well. Trouble brewing. Link
That sure was a hectic week yet again for Microsoft. Let’s see how this lawsuit pans out: will they settle, or will they duke it out to the end? Do you think PalTalk stands a chance, or would they be just another of them money-grubbing companies out to milk them giant cows?
