Xbox Live activity, 11/20: GoW tops and blue spandex
Well, people wanted it, people wanted to see it, and they saw it: Gears of War tops the charts as early as the week of 11/20 began. So there’s no surprise from Major Nelson when he posts the latest weekly Xbox Live activity charts on his blog. Well, maybe except for the fact that “If the Xbox 360 list and the original Xbox list were combined, then Gears of War would be the top Xbox Live title (over the last topper, Halo 2).”
But then, that’s what a lot have been clamoring for anyways.
Other tidbits: the Superman Returns demo takes third place, behind Call of Duty 3 but ahead of Small Arms, and the Rainbow Six: Vegas and Lost Planet MP demos. The most rational explanation for this is that Small Arms, R6V, and Lost Planet have all been Marketplace-released some time after Superman, and like GoW topping Halo 2, it’s gonna take time for the activity in each to really manifest themselves (you could note that Small Arms tops the Arcade chart).
Or everyone’s been too busy erecting towers… of cars.
Okay, before you go to the charts after the jump, one more announcement from the Major. There will be no new podcast to download from him for this week due to Thanksgiving (hey, even a Rainbow tango-fragger needs a real-world break every now and then). Next show’s up on December 3.
Okay, still want the charts? Jump.
