Ok, first off: don’t panic when you suddenly can’t connect to Xbox Live on September 29. The service will be down for 24 hours in preparation for the new Xbox Experience launch. BUT! But you won’t get the service yet – that’ll come this Fall.

The downtime will just be for service maintenance, and will start at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on the 29th. During this time, Xbox Live and My Xbox will be unavailable, and the Xbox forums are in read-only mode, meaning you won’t be able to post anything. Other services from Xbox.com will be available, but with some limited interruptions.

Guess you have a chance to stretch your thumbs for a bit. Or if you want to keep them in shape, grab the remote and pop open a bag of chips.
