Xbox360 Phone Home

Picture if you will: You’re on your way home from a hard day at work/school and your phone rings. “Who could that be,” you murmur. You look at your cell and tells you that your good buddy Giga Phil is on XBL and wants to play PGR with you. All of a sudden your day is alot brighter as you rush home to get your game on.

According to Microsoft UK mobility business manager Jason Langridge in an interview with BBC News, that sort of interconnectivity with your Xbox 360 is right around the corner. This is all due to Microsoft’s recent attempts at getting the Xbox 360 integrated into its MSN Messenger service which can be found on many cell phones running compact Windows installations. So how soon will you be able to get Xbox Live alerts on your cell phone? Sooner than you might think:

“It is six months or so. It is very, very near. You can see the integration that we are building with the Xbox 360, with phones and with PCs.”
