Xevious available on Wii VC
Sorry folks, despite the promise that 36 new games will be available in the first quarter of 2007, the only new Euro release for the Virtual Console today is Xevious. (Relax, it’s only January, there’s still a few months to go.)
Xevious was originally a Namco arcade game and was ported to the NES at some point. Today, the classic title should cost you around 500 Wii points.
Some critics say that the 500 Wii points is a bit too expensive for a game like Xevious, given the fact that it has already been released as part of Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance NES Classics series.
Of course, fans would counter that the promise of playing the game with a Wiimote makes it worth it.
Now that we’re talking pricing here, we just have to add that Eurogamer’s Tom Bramwell notes that that the most expensive way to play Xevious is to get a PS3 and play Ridge Racer 7. He says that it should be available for play on the loading screen.
