French homebrew developer Red_Squirrel has released a new program for the Sony PlayStation Portable called XMB Eboots Launcher. It is actually a plugin that gives users the option to launch an eboot when you press on one of the XMB icons.

According to the owner, the process of replacing the icons doesn’t deal with the handheld’s Flash0 so there’s no danger of bricking. Here are the changelogs for this build as well as the previous version:

v1.1

  • Added the following icons to the list of the icons that can be replaced:
    • Music (the MS icon under the Music menu)
    • Video (the MS icon under the Video menu)
    • Photo (the MS icon under the Photo menu)
    • Internet Browser
    • Saved Data Utility
    • Internet Radio

v1.0

  • In the first version icons that can be replaced are:
    • Network Update
    • Location Free Player
    • RSS Channel
    • Game Sharing
    • Camera

Red_Squirrel included a Readme.txt file in the download package below containing installation and usage guides. They should help you get started with this program and avoid any possible problems.
