Haven’t gotten too attached to Ciaran Anscomb‘s previous release of the XRoar emulator for the DS yet? Good – we’re letting you guys know that the developer’s just released a new build.
Version 0.21f1 will be carrying mostly sound quality improvements, along with some specific upgrades for this DS port. Here’s the latest changelog:
- More accurate single-bit sound (fixes issues with the game “Demon Attack”). Configurable because it also introduces the real-hardware artifact of buzzing/clicking in some games.
- Supports changing the SAM RAM organisation.
- NDS: Much improved video, sound and user-interface.
- GP32: Chatboard support working again
As a recap for those asking: Xroar is a homebrew emulator for the Tandy Color Computer/ Dragon, also built to run on PCs running on Mac OS X, Window32, and GP32. DS owners planning to run this new build will want to view the file bundle’s readme for further instructions.
