Yakuza 3 thumb - Image 1Given Ryu Ga Gotoku‘s popularity in Japan, it seems Sega is going all out with its third installment for the Sony PlayStation 3. Yakuza 3, as we know it outside the land of the rising sun, is shaping up to be more epic that its predecessors. Find out why by watching the two new trailers at the full article.

Sega just released two new trailers of the Sony PlayStation 3 title Yakuza 3, and if you’re a fan of both the samurai era and the series, you’ll love it just like we did. Aside from revamped gameplay elements, Yakuza‘s jump to next-gen also involves what seems to be an evolved storyline of the original – full of drama, intense scenes, and somewhat cheesy lines.

Of course, Kiryu is back and with that 1600’s look. Just like what Sega said before, the girl who’s apparently Haruka in her previous life wants to hire Kiryu. The little girl wants him to kill Miyamoto Musashi, someone who shares the name with the legendary swordsman in history books. Turns out that Musashi is Kiryu’s alter ego, though the other dual wielding pretty boy got us confused. If that doesn’t sound amusing enough, the game’s soundtrack also includes hip hop songs and rap.

Fans of the series since it first came to the PlayStation 2 need not worry though, because Sega definitely hasn’t gone crazy. Yakuza 3‘s combat still looks solid, and like its predecessors, you pull off more than a few punches and kicks. It’s an era when swords were used, and Kiryu is not afraid to wield a blade. There are lots of other attractions too, such as archery while on horse back, turtle racing, and entertaining yourself with the company of a geisha.
