Yamauchi: Gran Turismo 5 may incorporate car deformation

Polyphony Digital‘s Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is on the home stretch of its North American release wait period, and to keep you company as you drool in anticipation, we’ve got a video that you’ll find very interesting. Featured in this one is no less than series creator Kazunori Yamauchi, and he talks about a lot of great things about their upcoming games.
Particularly interesting is the subject of body damage in vehicles. Referring to that gameplay aspect as “the usual question”, Yamauchi said that they’re actually very close to putting it all together. He explains that it’ll take just a wee bit more convincing on their part towards the car manufacturers to make this concept happen.
The famed developer also talks about the kind of research which went into Gran Turismo 5‘s development. He also touched on the game’s online aspect, as well as the question of which steering wheel works best for their title.
