Yarnton: huge room for improvement for Nintendo UK

David Yarnton Nintendo UK - Image 1Nintendo of UK has been bombarded by a chronic case of console shortage just like its counterpart in the U.S., and according to David Yarnton, General Manager of Nintendo UK, they need to do a lot better. More details in the full article.

Nintendo Wii - Image 1The Christmas rush has come and gone, and the rush to grab Wii consoles is starting to calm and subside. So how did Nintendo UK fare in the last holiday rush? According to Nintendo UK’s General Manager, David Yarnton, they still have a lot to improve on, especially about the chronic shortage of Wii consoles.

“As far as Nintendo UK has been concerned we are continually looking to try and improve on how we do business here,” said Yarnton, whose message can be interpreted simply as “we need to do better.”

Yarnton also touched upon the subject of retailers and how some of them allegedly did not keep up their end of the bargain. According to Yarnton:

Some retailers have talked the talk, but not walked the walk, therefore in reference to that for 2008 my one request would be ‘compliance’

While not exactly explicitly stated, some gaming news sites have speculated that Yarnton’s plea actually meant that retailers were asked to sell more Nintendo products than its competitors, yet some of them weren’t able to comply.
