Yay! The Dragon Quest IX trailer

It will be some time before we actually see Dragon Quest IX on our DS units, but we’re pretty sure Square Enix intends to find a way to make the wait worthwhile.

The announcement of Dragon Quest IX: Protectors of the Sky as a DS title caught everyone off-guard, though it made DS users very glad indeed. We’ve seen the gameplay footage as well as snippets here and there of how this game will work. Now, however, we’ve got the opening trailer for you, courtesy of AsukaLover on YouTube.

One thing you might notice here is how the game logo for this one is a lot simpler than most of the other Dragon Quest games. Instead of a sword or a tiara, there’s a piece of fruit as the DQ background for the logo scheme. We’re wondering what that fruit has to do with the story, but it does happen to be in this trailer.
