Yie Ar Kung Fu graphics comparison
We’ve already mentioned that the classic NES and arcade title Yie Ar Kung Fu will be hitting the Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow. With classic re-releases such as this one, we’ve all come to expect a certain level of graphical enhancements.
Just how extensive are the graphical enhancements for Yie Ar Kung Fu? Xbox 360 news site Xbox360 Fanboy has put up a few comparison shots of the game’s XBLA version and the original version.
Gone are the jagged and primitive sprites in the original game (although the XBLA version still retains a level of jagginess). The backgrounds have also been spruced up, getting a new oil painting-like look.
Nostalgia buffs and retro purists will probably prefer the original graphics, if only for the sheer nostalgia factor, but it’s also true that the new graphics add a little extra “oomph” to the XBLA version. What about you guys? Which version would you prefer to play?
