What’s next for Yoshinori Ono after Super Street Fighter IV? Another Street Fighter game? He doubts it. Instead, he wants to make a new Darkstalkers game.

Asked about what his plans for the future were, the Super Street Fighter IV producer told Kotaku: “If I was given the resources and the permission to do so, I would love to make a new Darkstalkers more than anything.”

Ono has even started thinking about what such a game would entail. First off, a new engine would most likely be needed due to the characters’ unique art style and transformations. Visually, though, it would most likely stick close to Street Fighter IV.

And speaking of the Street Fighter franchise, another Ono-produced entry might be far off in the future. 

“First of all I want to take a break for a little while,” he said. “I’ve been doing these for awhile. After that I think that the atmosphere around the company is such that it might be time to take a chill pill on the upgrades for a little bit and try to branch out see what else I can do.

“If we start doing a bunch of upgrades I’m just going to end up dying from lack of vacation so I hope they don’t go that direction.”
