Zelda Crossbow Training to show off Wii Zapper capabilities

It’s been a while since we last heard from Nintendo’s elfish Hero of Time, after his jaunt in the Twilight lands with his impish companion Midna. Now, we get an update on what could be the next Legend of Zelda adventure, although it’s not quite the epic princess-saving tale we’re used to. Rather, it’s more of a trip back to the bow-and-arrow ranges to get some decent target-shooting hours in with the Nintendo Wii Zapper. The title of the game? Zelda Crossbow Training.

Pretty straightforward, isn’t it? Allegedly shown in a presentation to GameStop managers, Zelda Crossbow Training is a simple third-person shooter that uses The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess engine. Fun.

Of course, there’s a lot that’s unconfirmed with Zelda Crossbow Training. We don’t know quite yet if it’s going to be the game bundled in with the Wii Zapper, or if it’s merely going to be a minigame in a selection of minigames (ala Wii Play). One thing’s for sure, though, it’s going to be the first Zelda spin-off title in a while. And we were hoping for Zelda Fishing, too.
