You might have heard that Zill O’ll, a rather obscure PS2 RPG game for anywhere but Japan, is getting a PSP port. Though it wasn’t released in other regions, it still received quite a following in Japan. It was first released on the PSone back in 1999, but got a remake for the PS2 six years later.

The port, which got the spiffy title of Zill O’ll: Infinite Plus, will get plenty of upgrades from the PS2 game, including new scenarios and endings. What makes the game unique is substitution of “Soul points” for experience points. After every mission, you can split your soul points to six soul types (Brave, Kind, Search, Belief, Wild, and Cool). So theoretically, you can make a really “cool” character that’s an idiot in every other way?

Santa was supposed to deliver the PSP port to stores in Japan on Christmas Day, but Koei said they had to delay the game to January 22 so they can “further improve its quality.” No word on whether it will be released in other regions though.
