Zipper: We’d be surprised if anyone else can do what we did with MAG
At the launch of the much-awaited and highly-ambitious MAG title from Zipper Interactive, 128 players gathered in London to simultaneously play the game with another set of 128 players in the US. The total: the promised 256 massive, massive online game delivered via the PS3. It’s a feat alright, and that’s why the Zipper team will be no less than surprised if anyone matches what they did with this game.

Said Scott Rudi, “I really can’t say for other products, but MAG is possible because the PS3 is unique and rather aggressive architecture. I mean we are really using every available bit on that thing to get what we’re getting out of it.”
He continued, “We wrote our network code from scratch specifically for this, so if other people are capable of this I’ll be surprised.”
