Zombie Escape v1.1 Released
LMelior has developed an update to his NeoFlash Coding Competition entry and has come up with Zombie Escape v1.1. The changes from the original version include:
- Graphics much improved by branin.
- The circle button is now disabled after using up all of the safe teleports. (In v1.0 you could still teleport using the “safe” teleport button, but it was a random teleport, not a safe one).
- Switched to LuaPlayer 0.20 mod by Cools to take advantage of increased CPU speed and System.Quit()
- Made into a standalone game, not requiring Luaplayer on the user’s PSP.
- Moved the numbers on the information panel so that they would be centered.
Although the homebrew game looks pretty simple, think again. It’s actually quite tricky. And eventually, you might get addicted. As the title of the game suggests, the point of the game is to escape from the zombies. The thing about the zombies is that they come at you, in the shortest possible distance, from different points on the map. But being brain-dead and all, if zombies collide with each other, they go cannibal and destroy themselves, causing an acid pool to form. Kill all zombies by luring them into each other, acid pools, or fires, then you’re done for the level.
Controls:
- Analog stick: Select direction to move
- X: Move in selected direction
- O: Safe teleport
- Triangle: Random teleport
- Start: Options menu
Although it was encoded in Lua but made into a stand-alone game, to be safe, you might want to take a quick look at the readme file for some more information before you install it into your PSP.
