Angry Gamer Dumps Sony

angry gamerAngry Gamer has just about had it with Sony and its seemingly lack of commitment to its market. Posting an open letter to Sony, Angry Gamer digs into the history of his relationship with Sony and how the latter’s complacency has essentially pushed him over the edge, causing him to go find a new love.

The letter is humorous as it takes on the tone of a break-up letter from a spurned lover. The content, however, is no laughing matter as it nitpicks on the many instances that Sony showed negligence. Angry Gamer reminisced about last May’s controversy, with Sony insisting on everyone else to go for that wireless controller, which nobody really wanted anyway. If not for the impending PS3, he would have gone up and left already.

Second boo-boo from this seemingly ungrounded partner is the price tagged for the much-awaited PS3. At $600, no matter how much excitement there may be surrounding the console, fact is, its weight on the pockets is certainly enough to rain on anyone’s parade. And then came the final straw.

“Delaying the PlayStation 3 to March 2007 because you couldn’t make enough machines in time is the ultimate betrayal,” rants (very) Angry Gamer. And in true lover’s walk-out fashion, Angry Gamer throws back, not an engagement ring (though it is something close to it), but the pre-order slip for his PS3. “The lies, the delays, the embarrassing press conferences…I’ve had enough…Your pathetic indifference to the promise you made to me about the November release date show you just don’t care about my happiness.”

Well, what’s ditched Sony to do about this? We don’t really know, but it’s bound to be one big heartbreak to recover from.

As for Angry Gamer, well, he’s moved on. He found somebody else, someone “more reliable”. With a cool range of cheap games, even. “It’s an Xbox 360 and we’re going to be happy together forever now that I’m finally rid of you.”

Ouch.
