Resident Evil Wii Still in Development

It seems there was a misunderstanding at the Leipzig Games Convention on whether or not Resident Evil will be appearing on the Wii. According to an interview by a site called Pro-G, “Takeuchi also went all uncomfortable and apologetic when we asked him about Resident Evil Wii, saying he didn’t know if there would be one.” It seems that he was asked about whether or not Resident Evil 5, the sequel to the GCN and PS2 hit Resident Evil 4, would be appearing on the Wii.

Ben Le Rougetel, Capcom Europe’s head of communications, says that “Takeuchi-san’s answer does not contradict the announcement made at this year’s E3 which confirmed that a RE title for Wii was in development.” It is said that Minoru Nakai, producer of Resident Evil: Deadly Silence, is working on the Wii game.
