Sega appeals Alien vs. Predator RC by Aussie Classification Board

alien-vs-predatorAlien vs. Predator was awarded with a RC classification (Refused Classification) by the Australian Classification Review Board earlier this month. As you know, getting an RC from the Board is tantamount to having the game banned in the region. Sega, however, is not about to just let it go as it has now appealed the ruling.

As you know, getting an RC from the Board is tantamount to having the game banned in the region. Sega, however, is not about to just let it go as it has now appealed the ruling.

UK-based developer, Rebellion, has previously expressed disappointment with the ruling, but has stressed that it will not be releasing a “sanitized” version just to get the nod of the Board. As for their side, the Review Board explains that it will “only consider submissions about the computer game Alien vs. Predator itself and not any other matters relating to computer games policy or issues generally.” They were then given a December 14, 2009 deadline to file their applications for appeal.

The Review Board is set to reconvene to decide on the merits of Sega’s appeal.
