It’s been a while, but more information has finally surfaced regarding the upcoming Tekken movie to be directed by Charles Stone III. And from the looks of it, they’ve decided to cast quite a lot of MMA fighters into the list.

For one, Strikeforce mid-weight champ Cung Le will be taking on the role of Marshall Law. Le himself seems pretty enthusiastic about the role, given that he’s posed in Law’s trademark costume (no, not the yellow tracksuit). Jonathan Foo, credited as the Wushu figher from the Tom Yum Goong film, has been cast as protagonist Jin Kazama.

We’ve also picked up what appears to be a movie still hinting at how Jin will look in the film – it’s a lot more thuggish than his game appearances. As for the other guys currently expected to be in the movie (via SDTekken):

  • Jonathan Foo as Jin Kazama
  • Luke Goss as Steve Fox
  • Gary Daniels as Bryan Fury
  • Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Heihachi
  • Darren Henson as Raven
  • Ian Anthony Dale as Kazuya
  • Cung Le as Marshall Law
  • Kelly Overton as Christie Montiero
  • Candice Hillebrand as Nina Williams
  • Marian Zapico as Anna Williams
  • Roger Huerta as Miguel

As we’ve noted earlier, a good portion of the cast are reputableMMA fighters. Given that Miguel’s part of the cast, it also appears that the movie takes place around the time line of Tekken 6. At the moment, the Tekken movie has been slated for a 2009 release. Drop by again in case we find any more details regarding the production.
