Ubisoft: Rainbow Six Vegas Not Coming to Wii

Rainbow 6 Vegas

Despite a ‘leaked’ Ubisoft release schedule which we reported in March, Ubisoft representatives have contacted IGN to tell them that Tom Clancy‘s next-generation Rainbow Six: Vegas outing is not in development for Nintendo’s Wii console. The Ubisoft representative said, “Rainbow Six Vegas has been announced and is currently being developed for the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 platforms, and is not in development for any other consoles at this time.” This is bad news for prospective Wii owners, the most sophisticated tactical shoot ’em up out today will not be coming to the Wii – or will it?

When asked whether an alternate Rainbow Six title was being developed for the Wii, Ubisoft did not comment. Now, the leaked release schedule did say “November 2006: Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 5 (PS3, Xbox 360, Rev[Wii], PSP)”. This could surely mean another Rainbow Six title could be on it’s way to the Wii, maybe Rainbow Six Vegas with slightly different physics and a different name. Watch this space.
