2K Games: BioShock is a must-have gift

2K Games recently announced in a press release that the genetically enhanced first-person shooter BioShock (Microsoft Xbox 360, PC) is a certified must-have gift. Want proof? 2K has “Game of the Year” awards and frequent appearance in “Best of 2007” lists to talk about.

BioShock is 2007’s Game of the Year for The Associated Press, British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), Game Informer, Spike TV‘s Video Games Awards, G4’s X-Play,
Amazon.com, The Houston Chronicle, and Paste Magazine.

Many gaming publications like IGN, GameSpot, 1UP, GamePro, GamesRadar, and GameSpy also dubbed BioShock as the top pick for the holidays. 2K Games’ announcement didn’t fail to mention the game’s high review scores that reflects its average on Metacritic as one of the highest-scoring games this year.

President of 2K Christoph Hartmann also gave a few words, saying:

The winter holiday season is the most important time of the year for game companies, so we are excited to have BioShock selected by many of the largest media outlets as the best game of the year and a top pick for gift guides.

The media have been supportive of the game ever since it launched, so it’s great to see that praise carry on, especially among such a diverse group of publications.
