360 HD-DVD Add On At E3
Can it be that we’ll finally get some solid info on the much-awaited HD-DVD drive for the Xbox 360 at E3?
Well, Spiegel Online had a Q&A session with regional vice president of Microsoft Chris Lewis where he Lewis pretty much said that’s the case.
They asked Lewis is the HD-DVD-drive for the Xbox 360 still in the pipeline? And Lewis replied “Absolutely, yes. We’ll say a little bit more about it at E3. It will give people access to HD DVD.”
Spiegel wondered about the 360 not having an HDMI-Interface and if gamers won’t actually be able to watch any HD-DVD movies on it since the obligatory copy protection mechanisms are missing.
Lewis’ answer was cryptic, but exciting: “All I can say to you is — there are interesting developments in the pipeline. We will make sure that the HD-DVD-peripheral device will meet all the requirements for consumers to enjoy high-definition DVD playback.”
Come on, E3! We are getting hyped!
