Xbox 360 Price Drop Depends on Wii?
Xbox 360 price drop rumours never seem to die. Just recently, we’ve been hearing that the 360 would have a price drop to compete with the PS3. However, why would they do that? The PS3 is already more expensive than the Xbox 360! Microsoft has continually denied price drop rumours and it makes sense. The 360 doesn’t need one just yet. Analysts agree with this view saying that a price drop this fall makes no sense. They also said this:
“A price cut is much more likely next year, in my opinion, when there will be more production cost efficiencies, and when the competitive landscape with the lower-priced Nintendo Wii is better understood.”
That definitely makes sense. The core Xbox 360 is currently going to be just maybe $50 to $100 more expensive than a Wii. If the Wii really takes off, Microsoft may cut its price to match the Wii’s more closely! 2007 should be an interesting year.
