There’s a PSP game in first, but the hardware sales are just the same as usual. What’s interesting to note is that the DS Lite sells over a hundred thousand units every week. There’s only been one week this entire year that the DS didn’t sell over a hundred thousand units. However, Sony is only going to put out 100,000 PS3s on launch day in Japan! Expect to see massive damage in Japan. Massive.

Although it’s in first place, Bandai Namco might not be too happy with how Tales of Phantasia did. It’s the lowest launch week numbers ever for a Tales game. However, they should have expected low sales seeing as this is the fourth time they’ve released the thing! Then again, they do have unreasonable expectations. They blamed “lack of sales” on the DS as the reason they lost some money a few months ago when in fact they had sold over a million copies of the runaway hit, Tamagotchi Corner Shop. A game popular among children and female teens/adults.

This is the definitive version of Tales of Phantasia so if you know some Japanese, pick it up. It’s much better than the GBA port. The Full Voice Edition obviously is a fully voiced edition of the game! Almost all dialogue is voiced by what appears to be the same cast that did the OVA. I’m not entirely sure, but they sounded similar in the videos. It also appeared on

A Fresh Picked Tingle‘s Rose Coloured Happy Land didn’t do too bad either! Go Tingle Go! The crazy green man from Zelda is holding his own. New Super Mario Bros. also did well last week and passed the 3 million sold in Japan mark.
