Metal Slug Dives Into XBLA

We remember Metal Slug as an arcade game that Rambo would’ve liked. It had lots of explosions, tanks, and armory, and like ‘ol Rambo, he’s coming back for more. We mentioned last time that Metal Slug 6 was heading over to the PSP. Looks like Microsoft is in the mood to do a showdown with Sony. According to 1up, there’s a pamphlet being given away at TGS saying that, in commemoration of a decade of Metal Slug-ing, the first installment (Metal Slug 1) is coming to XBLA. The pamphlet contained the words “Metal Slug: the original”.

SNK Playmore, the game’s publisher, didn’t announce any release date yet but speculations are pointing towards a 2007 availability. We’ll be sending you more info as we get them.
