ABC News Interviews Reggie
And all of a sudden, I want a Wii. To clarify I’ve wanted one since seeing the thing in action at E3, but in recent months my interest in it has waned and been overshadowed by the flashy lights and graphical wiz-bangery of Sony‘s impressive showing at TGS with Resistance: Fall of Man, Motorstorm and Warhawk and the impending arrival of Emergence Day in the form of Microsoft‘s Gears of War. Reggie proves why he’s the best thing to happen to Nintendo since… Mario first discovered the Tanuki suit.
In this interview he exudes a humble sense of confidence, playing up the importance of breaking through to new consumers whilst making sure long-time fans are given their due. It was especially refreshing to hear him say that he doesn’t believe Microsoft and Sony must fail in order for Nintendo to be successful. You know what, they should have a Reggie Channel on the Wii, push a button and you can get a live video feed of Reggie 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Truman Show style. Anyway, you should watch the interview and see the man himself in action.
