GameStop might not give PS3 pre-orders
This doesn’t sound good for PS3 fans. One of the largest game retailers in the U.S. hasn’t decided on whether they’ll offer pre-orders for the PlayStation 3.
At a sales conference held by GameStop Inc. in Dallas, Texas, officials of the company mentioned this sobering news, citing the problems with the Xbox 360 launch as a reminder to not repeat the same mistakes. “I think the lesson is caution and optimism at the same time,” said Steve Morgan, GameStop’s president.
While our story on the supposed pre-order plans for the PlayStation 3 console was made inconclusive by commenters, this does happen to bear a little more weight, even if the folks at GameStop still haven’t made up their mind. A quick trip to GameStop’s webpage doesn’t bear any mention of a pre-order scheme, so there is some support for this story. Some good news though: you can, at the very least, sign up for information updates on their PS3 page.
The best thing to do, besides signing up for information updates, would be to keep checking QJ for additional info. Sit tight folks, and we’ll get the news to you as soon as we can.
