Jamie MacDonald: Europeans don’t mind PS3’s delay

PS3After news of the delay of PS3’s launch hit, several key persons from Sony stated their own thoughts about it. You may remember that SCE UK Boss expressed disappointment in the news that PS3’s release date for PAL territories has been pushed back to March next year. Many fans also voiced out their displeasure on the news.

Here comes SCE Worldwide Europe VP Jamie MacDonald stating that European consumers really don’t mind the delay. In an interview, McDonald asserted thoughts that may raise eyebrows, “In Europe, it doesn’t seem that the release of our platforms after the US and Japan – in the long run – affects how consumers feel.”

The SCE Worldwide Europe VP also purported that Europeans will end up buying as many PlayStations, if not more, than the U.S. and Japan consumers. We could only wait and see until the PS3’s release if McDonald’s strong statement really assess the console’s true performance in the market, as the consumers are the real “judges” in PS3’s fate.
