New spells for DDO levels 1 to 10 revealed
To the delight of those who were hovering around the Development section of the Dungeons and Dragons Online forums, Samera has posted a rundown of the new Module 3 spells that are currently in the testing phase.
The spell list reads like a grab bag of cool and useful spells, both offensive and defensive. On the defensive side, there’s Fire Shield and Minor Globe of Invulnerability, as well as Blur and its big brother, Displacement, which both make the target harder to hit. The new offensive spells include Burning Blood and Force Missile, a pair of spells that seem like grown-up versions of Melf’s Acid Arrow and the venerable Magic Missile, respectively.
There are also a couple of trap spells included in the list, with the classic Glyph of Warding making an appearance along with the hot hot hot Symbol of Flame. For those looking to play a few practical jokes, there’s Otto’s Sphere of Dancing, which compels those who enter it to start doing the funky chicken unless their will is strong enough to resist it. Great for parties, and it works just as great when you need to slow an enemy down quickly, too.
The spells posted are for levels 1 to 10, with those for levels 11 to 20 expected to be revealed on Friday. Now, how are you going to get these nifty new spells? According to Samera’s fellow poster hsinclair, Divine Casters will get the spells automatically as soon as they log in while Wizards will have to do some legwork and buy the spell scrolls and scribe them. Sorcerers and Bards meanwhile will have to either talk to their respective trainers to swap their spells or wait until they level up and get new spell slots.
