All systems go for Wii’s launch but shortage expected
Nintendo isn’t taking any chances with its Wii consoles. With some 4 million units available around the globe between November 19 and December 31, Nintendo’s offensive has been called the largest worldwide video game console launch in the past 10 years.
According to the company, they’re focusing all its resources to keep the Wii supply from drying up and disappearing from store shelves. In fact, Nintendo factories are now operating working 24 hours a day and its got delivery caravans – fleets of planes, cargo ships, trains and ground vehicles – ready in every Wii launch spot in the world.
However, despite the aggressive stance Nintendo has a word of advice to all you Wii fans. “Because of demand, we’re urging shoppers not to get complacent. The level of demand we’re seeing goes beyond the ordinary.” Translation: Nintendo believes supply won’t be able to keep up with the expected demand. Placing a pre-order is still your best strategy.
