Wal-mart joins the “Hide the Wii stocks from customers” bandwagon?
What’s the big deal on December 3? As far as we know, it’s just a regular weekend day. No big sales coming up, definitely no big launch dates up ahead… So, what’s up with Wal-Mart holding Wii stocks for that day? Sigh, another retailer store keeping stocks, eh?
According to this blog by Bryan, the Wal-Mart over at Wallie World refuses to sell Wiis to hopeful Wii-owners until the said date. Although his sister did get a confirmation that they were just unloading them off the truck at the very moment she called, she still failed to get one upon getting to the store.
From his sister’s account, the employee did admit that they have Wiis around, however, that if she’d like to purchase one, she’d have to wait until December 3 since they “have to hold them for our December 3rd advertisement. When she asked to speak with the manager, she said that she was reassured that their store had the stock available for purchase.
However, she must have used some good deal of persuasion, that the store general manager decided to give her one anyway. Sounds like a happy ending, right? Wrong. Because as her purchase was about to be rang, the store’s system were rejecting the completion of the transaction.
“Looks like you will have to come back December 3rd after all,” the store manager stated.
On the bright side, though, the manager did give her a voucher, which guarantees her a Wii by December 2nd.
So guys, what’s up on December 3?
