The History of Gaming card game
What’s so great about next-gen? What’s the big deal with the hot new games? Well, a bit of historical perspective can answer that. That’s why we like CyberEye Media Production’s card game: History of Gaming.
It’s a Top Trumps kind of game. For those of you who don’t know, Top Trumps is a game played with a theme deck. For example, the deck would have 30 cards with different dinosaurs, each one would have numbers (for size, weight, length). Each player takes a card. One player chooses a category (for example, length) and all the players read the number for that category off their cards. The player with the biggest number wins and gets all the cards. The game goes on until one player has all the cards.
The History of Gaming deck (look at the picture) has numbers for a bunch of things from the past 30 years of the history of gaming. The cards have numbers like date of introduction, CPU speed, etc.
Make your own. It’s also possible to make your own – homemade Top Trumps cards are quite common. You could throw in stuff about the Wii and the Virtual Console, or history-based games for the PS3 or for the PC, or a game with an extensive made-up history.
