UEFA 2007 Champions’ League, March 2007 for PSP, 360, PC
Soccer ain’t everyone’s cup of tea, but for those who love the game, it’s usually what takes the place of, or sits beside, football in a gamer’s library. IGN UK reports that EA Sports is throwing in a new title by March 23 in the UK to add to that library. So if you happen to own a PSP or Xbox 360 – or, for that matter, a PS2 and (IGN UK didn’t mention this) the PC: UEFA Champion’s League 2006-2007is on its way.
Other details reported by IGN include the fact that EA has “almost all” of the UEFA league teams in the bag (almost because they didn’t get the rights to those missing teams). However, on a more worrisome note, IGN UK also “knows” that there are a different number of teams between/among the platforms (gulp, uh-oh…). Game modes will include a recreation of this season’s 32-team tourney, or you can do things the hard way and take your team through qualification.
There will also be “historical” games of sorts, where you get to play some memorable games from UEFA’s history. Just how far back in history it goes, we’re not sure, but IGN UK did mention the 2005 Liverpool championship match. And something about smoky English pubs and soccer-crazed Italian AS Roma fanboys in said English pubs. For those who own a Sony family of game systems, IGN UK “expects” (though EA didn’t say) PSP-PS2 connectivity.
