Wii OS: PC interface based on the Wii Channels Menu

We’ve found an interesting video over at YouTube where BigJohn8411 posted some footage of his program running. He’s also given quite a beefy review of his program. It’s a Wii-themed OS, a GUI to be exact. The program allows him to launch certain games (emulated, most likely) on his PC with a Wiimote (GlovePIE, perhaps?). He did all the graphics to make the GUI resemble the Wii Channels Menu.

A lot of people have been asking if he’s going to release the program/theme/GUI. He says that there’s a slim chance. He only made this as a “for-fun” project, and he says that releasing a public version would require a lot of cleaning up. Well, whatever the case, he does promise to look into the prospect of releasing a “really really super pre-alpha version” some time soon.

For what it’s worth though, the interface looks very much like the Wii Menu. Of course, some stuff aren’t exactly the same (the cursor, for example), but hey!, for an interface to launch your ROMs on your PC, this is one great project!
