Tales of internet scorn: Fake GoW for PS3
The story is that over the last few days, YouTube user somma12345 has been making videos showing Gears of War running on his PS3. His actions would have been taken lightheartedly – learning to laugh at each other’s eccentricities and console preferences is only healthy – but the thing is, the guy claimed that what he did wasn’t a video spoof.
He said that changed a few file names and then burned his modified copy of GoW onto a Blu-ray disc.
Others claim that multiple inconsistencies pop-up on the video and some of us here at QJ agree that the video is very questionable. Aside from the questionable technical aspects, he seems to have taken excessive effort to make the video appear legitimate. It’s nothing your (our dear QJ readers) “fake spotting” eyes aren’t used to looking for.
What’s news here is that Aeropause recently reported that the man behind the video didn’t appreciate the scorn he got. YouTube user somma12345 has decided to remove the video. Yay for Internet-scorn. In an act of Internet mockery, someone decided to make a video showcasing his 360 playing Resistance: Fall of Man.
Given all of this, we’re going to ask you folks, up to what point is making fun of others people’s fandoms, or in this case, preferred consoles, considered healthy? When is it outright insulting?
