NerdaCon at Columbus State University: something for every enthusiast
A number of people will probably laugh at this – or not. Columbus State University held something called NerdaCon is a convention focused on gaming, popular arts (art, film, music and literature), and crafts organized by the Campus Nerds club of the Columbus State University.”>NerdaCon, a convention for gamers, anime otakus, and other err… Enthusiasts.
As the convention’s name suggests, it was organized by student group called Campus Nerds. It is now the largest student organization in CSU’s campus according Matthew Ballard, the president of the org. Since the group doesn’t discriminate in taking members into the fold, it probably has something for everybody. NerdaCon catered to just about anything featuring role playing games, Magic the Gathering matches, and bouts of Halo 2.
There was a World of Warcraft discussion, a Halo 2 impromptu tournament where players duked it out for US$ 18 and role playing with Dungeons and Dragons. Except maybe for the costumes, NerdaCon sounds pretty fun. This is the first year the convention was held and well, we know some would love a repeat.
