World of Warcraft: Public Test Realm UI Lua and XML changes with 2.1.0

World of Warcraft - UI Lua and XML changes in 2.1.0 patch - Image 1For addon and interface arrangement authors, drooling Ent Drysc enumerates the various changes in the UI and XML attributes. For the most part, addon authors can now re-write their addon code with reference to official change documentation, especially on the following specifics:

  • UIPanel Frame Management
  • UIParent Attributes
  • UI Panel Attributes (sifting initial values from the UIPanelWindows table)
  • Secure Templates
  • Memory Profiling
  • CPU Profiling
  • General API Functions
  • Frame API Functions
  • GameTooltip API Functions

The complete list of changes is currently being managed by World of Warcraft community VIP Iriel, who happens to have a more down-to-Earth summary of the attribute changes just to lessen the confusion for you macro-dependent grinders (or beggars?) out there. The list includes officially announced changes as well as changes to have been observed and verified by the various addon coders out there.

While they wait for some official word (or praise) from addon and macro expert Slouken, you can check out the official list by Drysc as of the PTR 2.1.0 patch and then head over to the complete list by Iriel at the UI & Macros section of the World of Warcraft Forums. Official list reachable through the “Read” link below.
