Spotted in VC servers: VF2, Punch Out!!, Bonk’s Revenge confirmed?
The Nintendo Wii’s Virtual Console (VC) for North America may be updating with Bonk’s Revenge, Punch-Out!! and Virtua Fighter 2 this Monday, at least according to people at Nintendo’s official Wii forums.
Going into further detail into the matter, forum member Yamiiguy stated this bit of speculation when he mentioned that Punch-Out!! and VF2 had been spotted on the VC servers, with fellow forum member BROLLYX90 stating that Bonk’s Revenge was also due for the week.
Most of the gamers here may remember Punch-Out!! arcade game, aka Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! for the NES. In this game, players control a boxer as they try to fight through gradually harder opponents, hopefully in a bid to win the coveted heavyweight championship belt. The next game in the list is Virtua Fighter 2, specifically its Sega Genesis release. This port is something of a downgraded version of the original Saturn game, with battles being fought on the 2D scale.
Bonk’s Revenge, originally for the TurboGrafx 16, puts players behind the controls of Bonk, a caveman with an insanely large head (which, by the way, is your weapon). The game has already gone live in Europe‘s VC shop.
As said earlier, the first two games were only spotted at the VC server – we advice readers to keep alert in case we receive official word of their VC release.
